The canvas is a familiar object to artists as it is often used, be it in paintings, drawings, printing or even in non-physical forms in digital programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Canvases are blank and white as they come but on them, there is where the magic happens as creatives create something out of nothing and this is fuelled by nothing but passion itself. As the canvas has the characteristics of being "Strong", "Heavy Duty" and "Stretched", those actually make up the value and characteristics that this initiative should have. To build a strong ground for young creatives of today by being their source of reliance, helping them stretch in every possible direction and step that they take towards their future and as they put their dreams into reality. Therefore by combining the two words "Blank + Canvas", the word "Blankanvas" is formed.
Blankanvas is an initiative which helps young creatives of today put their dreams into reality. Supporting all types of works regardless of it being the graphic arts, video productions, fashion, or even fine arts. It is understood that many creative individuals want to be the boss of their own brands but this is usually placed on a long-term hold due to financial constraints. Blankanvas' rise in the arts and creative community will help many young creatives realize and put their full potential into good use. They will be allowed to apply for a place for a start-up after going through a phase of interviews. There are applicable grants and scholarships up for grabs, which will offer full-fledged sponsorships for a handful of artists. This is to let them know that with passion, everything is possible and there are many different alternatives for them out there.
As an initiative that supports the arts and young creative talents, Blankanvas will launch and lend its helping hand to local creatives hand in hand with it's building in which where there will be concept shops, a mix of exhibition halls, studios for music and voice recording and discussion and project hubs for creatives to gather and create ideas at. Another highlight for the building would be an open air complex for graffiti artists to showcase their works without being put down for vandalism.
